The 2009 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was taped in New York earlier this week, though the final cut of the show isn’t to be aired until December 1 on CBS.

The models in the show got to walk on a runaway shaped like a big, sparkly, “V.” The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of the biggest fashion events during the year, and one of the few fashion shows shown on public television. Victoria’s Secret often churns out some of the biggest names in the modeling industry – Tyra Banks, Chanel Iman, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima and tons of others.

This year, Heidi Klum decided to walk in the show after all, just six weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, while Adriana Lima, who just became a mother this Sunday, decided to ditch the runaway this year.

Victoria’s Secret is known for being able to set the scene and tell a story through their scantily clad models. This year’s themes consist of five different sections of twelve outfits each. Their names are: Star Trooper, All Aboard, Pink Planet, Enchanted Forest, and Romantic Journey.

As show stylist Charlotte Stockdale explains it: “We came up with the idea of this girl who lands from outer space in Paris. She gets on a train that comes to a halt in Pinkland, where pink girls get on and off. Then they go into this fairy-tale forest and little lady bugs and butterflies land on them and vines grow up on their clothes. Then, there’s Tick-Tock Time; the wings in this section are based on clocks — there’s one modeled after a pocket watch with metallic feathers. And she ends up in this regal realm of princess-ness, where the wings have Swarovski jewels and peacock feathers.”
