Tipped as the “world’s finest jazz club” by critics, The Blue Note has certainly showcased some prolific headliners since it’s opening in 1981. Beacons of the jazz movement who favored the old-world appeal of Blue Note have included Oscar Peterson and Dizzy Gillespie to name a few. Nowadays, the club caters for both the modern and old eclectics with R & B and blues acts ranging from Lauryn Hill, to Bruce Hornsby and Bill Evans. With sweeping curtains and a dimly lit interior, Blue Note plays up to the typical ideal of a mid-50’s club complete with an intimately bijou stage that somehow brings audience and artist closer during performances. Whether you appreciate the soulful tones of rhythm and blues; the menu is definitely worth sampling. Serving from 6pm-12.30am, you’ll find the majority of the menu reads like a compilation CD, with dishes named after well-known jazz songs and artists.
