Once a prolific speakeasy in New York’s buzzing West Village, the tired Minetta Tavern was given a new breath of life when renowned restaurateur Keith McNally took up residence as the newest owner. Since his visionary revival of the tavern, including a complete restorative renovation, Minetta has become affiliated with some of the finest reasonably priced native cuisine in New York. Stuffed Calamari presents an over-sized entrée option, served with a colorful contrast of zesty lemon and peppers, while the mains offer quite an array of aromatically tantalizing choices, ranging from juicy dry-aged “Black Label Burger”, to the exquisitely simplistic Pasta Za Za, served with fried egg, lashings of pancetta and a sprinkling of sage. The prices are perhaps the most surprising menu offering, with dishes ranging from $10 – $30!
