Distinctly light and airy, the Per Se Restaurant at Columbus Avenue has taken the “French Laundry” concept, and re-invented this ideology to create a light, crisp ambiance that still retains the ruggedness that gives it character. With a three-star Michelin status, Per Se lacks the kind of pretentiousness one would associate with such a “top end” restaurant, instead providing a semi-casual atmosphere that feels quite homely. As you’d expect of a Thomas Keller restaurant, the menu is a constantly evolving labor of love for himself and Chef De Cuisine – Eli Kameh; each dish designed to provide a brief climactic peak for the palate, before your next taste sensation is served. Starters such as the Black Trumpet Mushroom “Agnolotti” and Caramelized Onion Mille-Feuille breathe connotations of unheard of flavor contrasts, while the main menu includes some distinctly American tastes like Florida Red Snapper, and Hudson Valley Moulard Duck.
