The concept of Zenkichi is loosely based upon brasserie meets authentic Tokyo, however the restaurant steps up it’s exclusivity with the addition of a private dining concept. Not content with semi-private booths, you’ll find complete seclusion with the integration of bamboo blinds and modest lighting – a feature of many Tokyo restaurants. Zenkichi is famed for it’s pure sake, the like of which is hard to find in New York. Made completely from Junmai (pure-rice) and koji (rice yeast), the owners profess it to be so natural, that even Tokyo natives are shocked at it’s raw, exquisite flavor With both á la carte and Omakase menus, diners are spoiled for choice with the plenitude of authentic dishes on offer. Chilled option include the Tako and Arima Sansho (simmered octopus with soy broth), and pave the way for Tako Wasabi, Marguro Capaccio Tuna Sashimi and Kurage (jelly-fish in white sesame).
