Situated in cosmopolitan Bay Ridge, Hinsch’s old ice cream parlor is still as popular as when it first opened in 1949. With a simplistic menu offering omelettes and various filled sandwiches, it soon becomes apparent that the real appeal of Hinsch’s is the homemade ice-cream. Come rain or shine, there are always customers ordering cones and sundaes. Candy jars still adorn the shelves behind the counter containing old favourites such as jelly beans and bon bons, as well as fudge and toffee. If you don’t have time to soak up the traditional American diner atmosphere, grab yourself a frozen yoghurt or ice-cream soda to go. A great way to enjoy one of New York’s oldest confectioners.
