John “Junior” Gotti has been granted his freedom after paying $2 million in bail money, after the jury was unable to come to a verdict. This is the fourth hung jury in five years in the Gotti case.
The son of the Gambino crime family was on trial for racketeering-related charges. Prosecutors did not say if Gotti will be tried again. One juror said it would be abusive to bring the charges again.

 Police officers secure the area after a shooting in Paterson, N.J.
The Thanksgiving holidays ended tragically for one family in New Jersey this year, when early on Saturday morning, a man chased down and shot his wife and two sons, killing one of them, before he himself was shot by an off-duty police officer.
Investigators have not yet found a clear motive for the crime.

The police have arrested a 17-year-old for the fatal stabbing that occurred in Chintatown two weeks ago.
The 17-year-old suspect, Victor Fong, was charged with second-degree murder after showing up at the Fifth Precinct station on Monday to surrender, with his lawyer.

 A Queens man was charged with murdering his wife and son on Saturday, after their bodies were found in a closet wrapped in black plastic with their throats cut, according to authorities. The woman was 54 years old, and the son was just 14.
The man’s name is Otto Herrarte, and he is 48 years old. He was charged with two counts of second-degree murder when, during questioning, he indicated that he had killed his wide and son before hiding the bodies.

An argument between two men riding an uptown D train resulted in the fatal stabbing of one of the men.
The victim was 36 years old, and was found with stab wound to his neck and face. A steak knife was later recovered at the scene. The victim was pronounced dead by paramedics at the 7th avenue train station.
The suspect, 37-years-old, was arrested on the scene by the Police Department’s Transit Bureau.
