Setbacks with the World Trade Center Memorial and Museum

Over the past few years, plans have been set in motion to try and create an underground World Trade Center Memorial Museum. The museum was supposed to be created to commemorate all of the victims of the 9/11 attacks and was scheduled to open on September 11th, 2012, the 11th anniversary of the attacks. The museum would also be opening one year after the revealing of a September 11th memorial at the site of the buildings that in its first few months of opening, drew well over 1 million visitors. NYC Blizzard 2010 in Photographs

This has to be one of the biggest snow storms in New York City history that I can remember. The blizzard of 2010 left over 20 inches of snow throughout the city and closed down all airports. The snow storm even caused the A-train to lose power, trapping nearly 500 passengers on the train from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. without food, heat or water until rescue workers could get to them. Aerial Tour of New York City in a Toy Plane

Someone from Team Black Sheep put a camera on a radio controlled toy plane and flew it over the Brooklyn and Verazano Bridge, around Downtown Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Here is the YouTube video showing the amazing and unique birds-eye view they captured with the toy plane. Asked if they alerted authorities before flying the plane, they responded “it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.” Enjoy the awesome video!

Fashion Week To Move?

It has been rumored that organizers of New York fashion week are going to announce that next year, Fashion Week will be moving from Bryant Park (where Fashion Week has been held for the last 15 years) to Lincoln Center.

Apparently, park management has been complaining for years about the invitation-only shows had grown too large and were restricting access to the park. Although Fashion Week was welcomed in 1993, when it started, there have been many clashes between Fashion Week organizers and the park’s management company.
