St. John Drops Angelina, Hires Karen Elson Instead

Model Karen Elson and Actress/Model Angelina Jolie

The high-end designer has been using Angelina Jolie as their model for the last few years, but this year they have decided to drop Angelina and hire red-head model Karen Elson.

They said that Angelina Jolie overshadows the brand, and they wanted a more low-key model. A spokesperson for the company said, “We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.”

Neighborhood Spotlight: Brighton Beach

The boardwalk on Brighton Beach

I’ve lived on Brighton Beach for about 17 years, and what I’ve found is that it is a neighborhood like no other. They call it “Little Odessa By The Sea”, but it is nothing like the real Odessa, or like any other city in Ukraine or Russia. It is so over the top “Russian” that it’s not really Russian at all. On the heels of former State Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno being found guilty on several felony counts and current State Senator (though likely not for long) Hiram Monserrate being found guilty of assaulting his girlfriend, a push to bring some sort of ethics into a chamber …continue reading

Colts (14-2)

The Colts were undefeated for the first 14 games of the season and could have easily went 16-0 but chose to rest their starters. Although they have the league’s best record and a first round bye, the Colts have only the 7th ranked offense in the …continue reading
