As rumors swirl about former New York City Comptroller William Thompson possibly running on Andrew Cuomo’s ticket in the governor’s race, Thompson is considering running on his own for the Senate.
Thompson’s persona grew when he nearly beat seemingly unbeatable incumbent Mayor Mike Bloomberg in the mayoral race despite being vastly outspent by Bloomberg and is now considering running for office again with much better name recognition.

In a report released by Bloomberg News, it appears that $1 million of Cuomo’s current $18 million campaign chest came from New York lawyers, many of them representing defendants who are currently in Cuomo’s crosshairs.
While all contributions forms ask donors if they have any business with the Attorney General’s office (I.e. They are being prosecuted), law firms who represent these defendants are still permitted to donate to Attorney General campaigns.

In a high profile lawsuit, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is going after the United Homeless Organization, which New Yorkers know from the countless tables around the city of workers asking for donations to help the homeless. According the Cuomo, the organization is just scamming unaware New Yorkers into giving to the homeless, while much of the money simply goes into the wallets of the people running the “non-profit.”
