(NEW YORK) As Fashion Week rolls on, so do the efforts to support the people of Haiti. Last night, the tents were buzzing with excitement and anticipation, as it was clear that Naomi Campbell was in the house. The super’s massive charity fashion show, Fashion for Relief, promised to feature a slew of chicsters in designs which will all be auctioned off at Net-A-Porter beginning March 15th. Campbell spearheaded the show, as friends and supporters including fellow models, fashion designers, actors and musicians stomped down the runway in designer looks put together by Rachel Zoe.

300,000 Estimated Dead in Haiti

More than 100,000 bodies have been buried in mass graves but that may be less than a third of the ultimate death toll from the massive earthquake that destroyed Haiti’s capital city Port-au-Prince and its surrounding areas. Officials are now estimating the deathtoll to be at around 300,000 once all of the bodies have been found and the diseases stemming from conditions on the ground prove to be even more catastrophic than the quake.

Another Earthquake Rocks Haiti

Though most assumed the worst (at least earthquake-wise) was over after the 30-plus aftershocks that Haiti saw following the massive 7.0 earthquake that has completely ravaged the country and the city of Port-au-Prince, the country was rocked again by a 6.1 mag aftershock early this morning that sent sleeping Haitians running into the streets with all too vivid memories of last week’s events.

More Than 200,000 Likely Dead In Haiti

Official estimates now state that at least 200,000 people have died because of last week’s earthquake and many are estimating the the ultimate death toll will be closer to 500,000 or nearly 5 percent of Haiti’s 10+ million residents.

Though it is still unknown how many people died in the earthquake as relief crews continued to work twenty-four hour days to clean through the rubble and find anyone dead or still somehow living, the damage caused by the earthquake has left countless people without access to clean water or medical supplies.

Mass Burials Begin In Haiti

In a truly heart wrenching sight, the Haitian government has begun to move the thousands of dead that have been lining the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti and begun mass burials of those lost in the devastating mag 7.0 earthquake that ravaged the country’s capital and has affected three million people.

After several days, the country’s supplies are running short and relief groups are unsure how many people they will be able to help with conditions on the ground being what they are.

Non-stop footage of the wreckage in Haiti has shown people simply piling the thousands of the dead along the side of the road and Haitian officials are estimating the total number of the dead at 100,000 to 500,000 and a 3 million total people affected after a magnitude 7 earthquake (with at least 26 aftershocks) near Port-Au-Prince, Haiti’s capital and largest city.
