Giants Have Nothing To Play For In Final Game

Manning Fumbles Away The Season

How things change. Just a few weeks ago the Jets were all but out of the playoff hunt and the Giants were ranked among the favorites to win it all. Today, the Jets are in control of their own playoff destiny while the Giants are completely out of the playoff picture.

As the Giants have fumbled away their playoff chances, many Big Blue fans have been wondering what happened to the team that opened the season 5-0? The Giants were frontrunners at the start of the season, only to lose seven of their next ten games. Even this …continue reading

Jets Beat Undefeated Colts, Control Own Playoff Destiny

Manning Did Jets a Favor By Sitting

Talk about getting a break at every step. From every one of the teams competing with the Jets for a playoff spot losing to the Colts sitting their starters for most of the second half and leading to a Jets win, Sunday was the best day that Gang Green has seen in years.

Jets Win Without Sanchez, Improve Playoff Hopes

Jets RB Thomas Jones

Playing their first game of the year without injured quarterback Mark Sanchez, the Jets beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26-3 to improve to 7-6 on the season. It wasn’t pretty, but it was a win.

Kellen Clemens got the start after Sanchez sprained a PCL in his left knee in last week’s win against the Bills, his first in two years. Despite a decisive win, Clemens’ play certainly made fans pray that Sanchez returns next week.

Clemens finished with 111 yards on 12 pass completions.

With Clemens at the helm, the Jets relied heavily on the running game and got very solid production out …continue reading

Without Sanchez, Jets Face Challenge in Bucs

Jets QB Mark Sanchez

As soon as the Jets seemed to be getting on a roll, winning two straight games and improving their odds of making the playoffs, quarterback Mark Sanchez got hurt.

Although Sanchez had not been playing like anything more than a rookie quarterback, he had become an offensive leader and Rex Ryan’s new conservative offense served him well as he had a 62.5% completion percent in the last two games with a touchdown and one interception. Much better than the 53.2% completion rate and 1.5 interceptions per game that he has on the season.

Four-year veteran Kellen Clemens will get the start tomorrow against …continue reading

Sanchez Hurts Knee as Jets Make Playoff Push

Jets QB Mark Sanchez

As the Jets make an unlikely playoff push in the AFC, they summoned a man who has already won a championship this year, Yankee manager Joe Girardi.

The Jets asked Girardi to work on sliding with quarterback Mark Sanchez who has impressed fans with his legs as much as his powerful (though often inaccurate) arm.

The Jets had been worried about Sanchez’s playing style of late. Aside from his reckless disregard when passing or carrying the ball, the Jets are more worried about Sanchez seriously hurting himself sliding head first.

Sanchez had already sustained his first …continue reading
