Balenciaga Sues Steve Madden

High-end fashion line Balenciaga is suing Steve Madden for allegedly stealing their label’s multicolored Lego heels from the 2007 collection.

In the lawsuit, Balenciaga’s complaint states that the Steve Madden company “intentionally copied” the fall 2007 design, which first became popular when Beyonce wore them to the American Music Awards in November 2007.

The original designer pair of shoes cost $4,175, while the Steve Madden version costs $99.95, which is approximately only 2 percent of the original price.

Pinkberry – Not Yogurt?

I was recently in Los Angeles, where the Pinkberry craze is still running full throttle. There are lines out the stores, which translates to 15-20 min waits. However, there is currently a lawsuit filed by Byran Williams, a Los Angeles resident and consumer, against Pinkberry on the grounds of false advertisement. According to the lawsuit, Pinkberry’s frozen yogurt is not actually yogurt since it contains no bacteria cultures. In addition, California Law also states that frozen yogurt sold in retail establishments must be obtained from a licensed manufacturer and fermented after pasteurization, with its ingredients prominently displayed to consumers.
