
Last year, Lord & Taylor, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Saks and the parent company of Andrew Marc were all sued by the Humane Society for mislabeling faux-fur items. Finally, Lord & Taylor settled outside of court and promised not to sell products that contain the fur of raccoon dogs, whose fur is most commonly misrepresented, according to the Humane Society.
Lord & Taylor, and the other defendants, have allegedly sold garments labeled as raccoon, coyote, rabbit, or faux that actually contained raccoon-dog fur. Lord & Taylor says they will be careful from now on about correctly labeling fur.
