Motorcycle jackets, leather leggings, over sized t-shirts, and combat boots. Combat boots are awesome, they’re warm, wonderful to walk in when there is snow or ice outside, protect you from rain and puddles, and last forever.

Here are a few options if you’re looking into buying combat boots:

Classic Doc Matens – Cost $150.00, but last years and come in all different colors, styles and shapes.

Volatile Combat boots – A great option for those of us who don’t wear leather, but still like the classic combat boot look. They come at an affordable price. The only downside is the man made materials used to make these usually wear through after a few years.

Military Combat boots – This website has military combat boots, which don’t differ much in colors and styles, but are incredibly reliable, and have super great traction, so if you are deathly afraid of ice or live somewhere cold, these are the best option for you.

Rocker Combat boots – If you wanna go all out, goth stores are the best. They have knee-high combat boots, with all sorts of buckles and laces for design. These are actually pretty good for the winter, and super sturdy for all weather.

Winter in New York City is a magical time! The city is lit up more than usual, families come to visit, and people become just slightly nicer. The weather may be cold, but if you are brave enough to venture out, here are a bunch of fun winter activities!

Ice Skating – Winter doesn’t have to be the season where you sit home and gain weight! Grab a friend, your significant other, or a family member and head to one of New York’s gorgeous ice skating rinks. Wollman Rink in Central Park is absolutely beautiful and a dream date, but can be a little overcrowded during the holiday season. You could head to the pond at Bryant Park, or to Rockefeller Center.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree – Many think this is too much of a tourist activity, but even for native New Yorker’s, this is a sight worth seeing. If you can, attend the lighting ceremony that will be happening on December 2, 2009. Al Roker from The Today Show usually hosts a live telecast of the event, featuring tons of celebrity performances. Even if you can’t go to the lighting ceremony, coming to see the tree at least once this season will be worth it.

Macy’s Herald Square Display – The displays are up already, as Macy’s likes to have their decorations up in time for Thanksgiving. Every year, they display two series of windows displays. One features scenes from the classic movie “Miracle on 34th Street,” and the other is new every year. The display is perfect, every year. Kids and adults alike will delight in seeing it.
